About Us

Woods Rogers was founded in 1893 and has focused its practice in Virginia, the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast for more than one hundred years. The Firm represents long established clients as well as many promising new businesses.

Woods Rogers values each of its client relationships, matching the appropriate attorneys of the firm with the special needs of the client.
While many client relationships are created in times of crisis or significant litigation, Woods Rogers seeks to develop a lasting relationship by keeping clients informed of the latest legal developments and how those developments affect the businesses of Woods Rogers’ clients. The firm’s attorneys strive to understand the current and future needs of clients and to anticipate and adjust to meet those needs.

Woods Rogers is also mindful of the high level of efficiency demanded in the current business climate. It uses computer based support in all areas of practice and keeps up with and implements the latest proven technology for handling its clients’ affairs.

Woods Rogers attorneys are experienced in more than twenty-five practice areas that include Banking, Corporate, Estate Planning, Labor and Employment, Litigation, Tax, Intellectual Property, Construction, Environmental, Health Care, Pension and Employee Benefits, Bankruptcy and Creditor's Rights, Regulated Industry, Local Government, Real Estate, Securities, Finance, and Transportation.

The firm has offices in Roanoke, Blacksburg, Danville, Richmond, and Lynchburg. Its lawyers appear in courts throughout the Commonwealth and concentrate their appearances in the federal and state courts of Virginia and elsewhere.

The lawyers of Woods Rogers are devoted to their communities and contribute both time and money to more than one hundred community and civic organizations. Woods Rogers is a supporter of the arts as well as a partner for growth and economic development in the communities it serves.

Twenty-eight Woods Rogers attorneys were selected for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America” 2007-2008. Many of our attorneys have been listed for 10 or more years. Woods Rogers attorneys are recognized in nearly all of the available practice areas.
