The Grandfathered Plan Under Health Care Reform: Is it a Myth?

The health care reform legislation adopted in March - the Patient Protection and Afforable Care Act and Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 - established new requirements that must be met by group health plans. The legislation provided that grandfathered plans were exempt from many of the new requirements. In June, we received guidance as to the types of changes that would result in a grandfathered plan no longer being grandfathered.
