Michael A. Cole has extensive experience in many areas of civil litigation, including medical malpractice, personal injury matters, business and commercial litigation and worker’s compensation. Michael has handled over thirty jury trials and has successfully handled a variety of appellate matters in both state and federal appeals courts, including having written a brief filed with the United States Supreme Court.

Originally from South Boston, VA, Michael returned to the area in 2003 after 21 years of law practice in Atlanta. Most recently, Michael was a founding member of Cole, Bryman & Clerke. Prior to that, Michael was an associate with Vincent, Choray, Taylor & Feil and Freeman & Hawkins, also in Atlanta, GA. Michael received simultaneous B.A.’s in Government and Economics from the University of Virginia, from which he graduated with High Honors in the top 5% of his class. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia, where he wrote for the Journal of Law and Politics and was active in the Federalist Society and the law school’s Moot Court competition. Michael was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1984 and the Virginia Bar in 2005.

He has been involved with the Leukemia Society of America and the Atlanta Humane Society, and mentored in Big Brothers of America for over fifteen years. Michael also lectured and debated topical issues in Atlanta-area high schools as part of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Law Day Project.

Michael now is a member Danville Bar, the Virginia Bar Association and the State Bar of Virginia in addition to the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association.
