Nicholas C. Conte

Nicholas C. Conte is Chairman of the Corporate Law Group of Woods Rogers PLC, and concentrates his practice in corporate and business law representing start-up companies, closely held businesses and public companies throughout Virginia. He has handled a wide range of corporate and business matters, representing companies in varied industries, including high-technology, biotechnology, services and manufacturing. Nick has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, contract law, computer law, internet business matters, succession planning, venture capital and financing. Nick is a member of the Virginia State Bar's Business Law Section, the Business Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  He received both his undergraduate degree (A.B. Economics and Government) and his law degree from the College of William & Mary.   He is also an adjunct professor of law at Washington & Lee University Law School, where he teaches a class on Corporation Finance.  Nick has been selected by Virginia Business Magazine as one its Legal Elite in the Business Practice area and was the subject of a feature profile in that magazine’s December 2002 edition.  He also has been named in The Best Lawyers in America in the Business area.  He has been named in Virginia Super Lawyers magazine in the Business area.  He has been recognized by the Roanoker Magazine as one of the top business attorneys in the Roanoke Valley.
