Bayard Harris serves on the faculty of the Business Department at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia where he teaches Labor Relations, Human Resource Management, and Business Law. Bayard also continues to practice law as a member of the Labor and Employment Law Group of Woods Rogers PLC.
A native of Washington, D.C., Bayard joined Woods Rogers in 1973. Since 1974, his practice has been concentrated in representing management clients in labor and employment law in a diverse range of manufacturing, retail, service and professional industries. In1991, Bayard founded and until 1998 served as President of The Center for Employment Law, pc, a private management labor firm. In 1993, Bayard founded and continues to serve as the President of Nathan’s Gift Foundation, a non-profit sponsor of youth educational programs.
Bayard received his law degree in 1973 (cum laude) from the University of South Carolina where he served as an author and editor on its Law Review. Bayard received his A.B. degree in 1966 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Bayard served on active duty as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1966-1970.
Bayard has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 1983, in Who’s Who in American Law (6th Edition), Who’s Who in America, (Millennium Edition) and Virginia Business’ Legal Elite, 2000-2003.
