Michael J. Hertz is an associate practicing in the Firm’s Corporate and Business Law and Intellectual Property sections. Mike focuses his practice on corporate and intellectual property matters for both closely held and public companies. He has experience in an array of merger and acquisition matters and contract drafting and review for clients in many different industries including technology and Internet-based businesses. He also files and prosecutes state and federal trademark applications and copyright applications. In addition, he has represented clients in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mike received his undergraduate degrees in History and Government from the University of Virginia in 2002 and his law degree from Wake Forest University in 2005 where he graduated in the top 20% of his class. While in law school, Mike served as the Senior Notes & Comments Editor for the Wake Forest Law Review.
Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Mike had the privilege to clerk for the Honorable Jackson L. Kiser, U. S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Virginia, in Danville.
