Peter E. Rosden has prosecuted trademark and domestic, foreign priority and Patent Cooperation Treaty patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1982. He has particularly extensive experience with business method, e-commerce, computer software and hardware and medical device patents and has done patent work for a number of large national and international corporations. He is also well-known for his work with advertising law; he penned The Law of Advertising, a 4-volume treatise dealing with intellectual property, business torts, administrative and constitutional law in 1974 and has supplemented it annually ever since. After practicing administrative law as a senior enforcement attorney in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Treasury Department for five years, he joined the intellectual property law firm of Sixbey, Friedman and Leedom in Arlington, Virginia for several years and then started his own law practice. In an Adjunct Professor capacity, he has taught several seminars on advertising law at the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C. Peter is a member of the District of Columbia and Virginia bars.

He received his law degree from the Columbia University Law School and was designated Shearman Scholar for the District of Columbia Circuit. His B.A. in economics was completed in just three years at Dartmouth. Peter also studied at the University of Vienna in Austria as well as studying computer science, engineering and electronic technology at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. He speaks fluent German. Peter has lived in several European countries while concluding various patent, trademark and copyright matters and pursuing several lawsuits pending in Europe.
