Morgan E. Scott, Jr. is a member of Woods Rogers' Litigation Practice Group. Since being admitted to the bar in 1972, Morgan has extensive trial experience, having argued numerous cases to verdict in both Virginia and Federal Courts. In addition, Morgan has written and participated in numerous appeals, including complex civil and criminal matters. Morgan serves as an instructor in trial advocacy for the Department of Justice, The National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the University of Virginia Trial Advocacy programs. Morgan is also a Teaching Associate at Roanoke College in Salem, VA where he teaches Criminal Justice.
Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Morgan served as the First Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Virginia. Morgan has also served as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Newport News, Virginia, Assistant U.S. Attorney, Senior Litigation Counsel, Criminal Chief, First Assistant U.S. Attorney, United States Attorney in the Western District of Virginia and Clerk of the United States District Court in the Western District of Virginia.
