Isak Howell is an associate at Woods Rogers in the firm’s Litigation section. Isak, a native of Alabama, graduated from the University of New Mexico. He then moved to Roanoke where he worked as a reporter for The Roanoke Times, covering government, politics, education and environmental issues.
While in law school at the University of Virginia, Isak was Chief Executive Editor of the Virginia Environmental Law Journal and received recognition for pro bono work. He graduated in 2007, a member of the Order of the Coif.
After graduation from law school, Isak was law clerk to the Honorable Samuel G. Wilson, United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. While clerking, Isak assisted with appellate cases before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, with a capital murder habeas corpus petition and with various criminal and civil matters.
