Claude D. Carter is Of Counsel at the Roanoke office  Woods Rogers PLC.  Prior to joining Woods Rogers, he was a partner at Carter & Osborne, P.C.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, real estate and business law.

Mr. Carter is a native of Roanoke and Botetourt County and is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute .  He worked as an accountant for General Electric in Schenectady, New York and served in the United States Army Artillery.  He attended Washington and Lee School of Law and graduated with his J.D. in 1959.

Mr. Carter served as a Member (1980 – 1983) and Chairman (1982) of the Board of Supervisors, Botetourt County.  He has also served on many other boards and commissions, including the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission, the Fifth Planning District Commission, the League of Older Americans and Total Action Against Poverty.
