Roanoke, Va.—The Richmond office of Woods Rogers PLC welcomes Joseph Walton Milam III in an Associate role. Walton will focus his practice helping businesses resolve commercial disputes efficiently. Having clerked for the Honorable Michael F. Urbanski in the Western District of Virginia and served as an extern for the Honorable David Novak in the Eastern District of Virginia, he has worked on and is familiar with all facets of complex civil and criminal matters.
“Walton was a member of our summer associate program and we are thrilled to have him join our Richmond office,” said Dan Summerlin, President of Woods Rogers PLC. “With his strong academic background and past experiences, he will strengthen our associate ranks and be given an opportunity to work with different lawyers in a variety of areas while developing his own areas of interest.”
Walton graduated cum laude from University of Richmond Law School where he received a concentration certificate in Intellectual Property and earned the ABA/Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. Award for Excellence as the top Intellectual Property student in his class. He holds a B.A. in economics from Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Va. and attended high school at Woodberry Forest in Orange, Va.
A native of Danville, Va., Walton is an avid skier and outdoorsman. He enjoys spending time at his family farm, grain agriculture, timber management, and wildlife conservation.
