E-Billing Supervisor (Remote)

The E-Billing Supervisor is responsible for managing the electronic billing (e-billing) processes within the Firm. This role involves overseeing the e-billing team, ensuring accurate and timely submission of invoices, resolving appeals, and maintaining compliance with the clients’ billing guidelines.

The E-Billing Supervisor will work closely with the Billing Managers, Billing Coordinators, and other members of the Finance team to streamline billing operations and enhance overall effectiveness of the billing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a dedication to delivering high quality work in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a full-time position, with the ability to work remote, hybrid, or fully in-office.

Required Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in law firm e-billing or equivalent experience.
  • Previous management experience—preferably in a billing department.
  • High proficiency in e-billing software platforms, such TyMetrix, Legal Tracker, CounselLink.
  • Proven ability to help others develop new skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret billing guidelines and identify billing discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, employees, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and representing the Firm in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the e-billing team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Work directly with 3E team and internal billing team throughout software implementation and any ongoing needs.
  • Participate in trainings and meetings regarding 3E and e-billing Hub software.
  • Participate in testing new software and assisting with correcting any information in current system needed for the 3E software and e-billing Hub.
  • Oversee the electronic billing processes for the Firm, including the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure accurate and efficient submission and tracking of invoices, matter setup, etc. on various e-billing platforms.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on complex billing issues.
  • Communicate effectively with billing coordinators and client representatives to address questions, resolve billing setup issues and appeals, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage e-billing systems and software, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning properly.
  • Conduct analysis of recurring billing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and support to attorneys, staff, and billing personnel on e-billing processes, software usage, and compliance with client billing guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to streamline the e-billing workflow and resolve any billing-related issues efficiently. Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, changes in e-billing regulations, and advancements in e-billing technology. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance e-billing processes, reduce inefficiencies, and optimize billing performance.
