Paralegal, Trusts and Estates (Charlottesville or Roanoke, VA)
Woods Rogers is seeking to hire an experienced Trusts and Estates Paralegal to join our dynamic private client services practice group. This role provides essential support to attorneys in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related probate matters. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with the option to be located in our Roanoke or Charlottesville office. The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a paralegal in a trusts and estates practice, with demonstrated proficiency in estate planning and estate/trust administration.
- Solid understanding of probate procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong focus on trusts and estates.
- Paralegal Certificate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Assist with preparation of probate pleadings, filings, and notices.
- Collect and organize asset information.
- File documents with appropriate courts.
- Manage and track deadlines for estate and trust administration, including tax filings.
- Perform legal research as needed.
- Communicate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in transactions.
- Assist attorneys with other administrative tasks as needed.
- Enter billable time into the firm’s timekeeping system.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
