Woods Rogers’ attorneys Elizabeth Perrow and Daniel Sarrell were successful in Lynchburg Circuit Court in defending a cardiothoracic surgeon against a medical malpractice suit. After a six-day trial, the deliberation lasted two-and-a half hours. The plaintiff sued for $4 million. In May 2014, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the Woods Rogers client, the cardiothoracic surgeon.
The second suit defended by Perrow and Sarrell took place in September 2014 in Buchanan County Circuit Court. Woods Rogers was defending a general surgeon against a charge of failure to treat a ruptured appendix in a timely manner. The plaintiff sued for $2 million. After a four day trial, the jury deliberated for less than an hour to return a verdict in favor of Woods Rogers’ client.
