Virginia's New Workplace Laws

While overshadowed by national news, Virginia passed some of the nation’s strongest worker protection laws in April and most were effective July 1, 2020.  Employers must start implementing these new requirements. With state law behind them, many employees who previously would have brought claims in federal court will now file in state court, making employment claims riskier and more expensive than ever.
