Beth Burgin Waller named to 2022 List of “Influential Women of Law”


portrait of Beth Waller, Cybersecurity & Data Privacy AttorneyBeth Burgin Waller, a Woods Rogers Principal and Chair of the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice, was named an “Influential Women of Law” in 2022 by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.

Beth’s practice includes critical infrastructure cybersecurity incident response. She has experience not only leading teams whose mission is to bring complicated systems back online after cyberattacks but also advising clients in high-tech fields such as biotechnology and software development, and with clients pioneering new technologies such as blockchain and IoT devices.

Beth is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in both the U.S and Europe Designations (CIPP/US & CIPP/E), and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She was recently named as a OneTrust Data Guidance expert in the field of data privacy in Virginia and has taken leadership positions in the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Bar Association. In 2021, Beth was named to the Virginia Bar Association’s Intellectual Property and Information Technology Section Council. She is also a frequent contributor to the national online cybersecurity journal Dark Reading, authoring articles on cybersecurity and data privacy’s legal risks.

Virginia Lawyers Weekly created this award program to honor “Women attorneys and judges for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and for their clients, their commitment to their communities and their service to the profession.”
