Daniel brings extensive experience with complex M&A and commercial transactions, as well as partnerships, project investments and joint ventures. Daniel also advises clients on corporate structures, including formation, organization, and governance of the business entities that make up their enterprise.
His transactional and advisory work often involves regulatory and policy matters related to carbon markets, clean energy, and sustainable development.
Before joining Woods Rogers, Daniel practiced at an international law firm in Washington, D.C., where he served on the firm’s global and regional steering committees for cross-border transactions and carbon markets. He also worked on secondment with a major financial institution in London as legal counsel to its commodities trading desk.
Daniel lives in Keswick, Virginia, with his wife, three boys, and a giant Newfoundland. Outside the office, he loves running the quiet country roads around Albemarle County, skiing in the winter, and coaching his sons’ baseball teams.

- Advised a multinational health insurer on the divestiture of its businesses in six Asia Pacific markets for approximately $5.4 billion.
- Advised a leading US autonomous vessel technology company on its acquisition by a defense contractor.
- Represented a global specialty chemicals company on the $1.05 billion sale of a division operating in 32 countries.
- Counseled a carbon credit developer on an equity investment with a renewable energy company valued at $100 million in the form of carbon credits generated under proprietary sequestration methodology.
