Get To Know Madyson
Madyson’s practice primarily focuses on intellectual property (IP)—including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. With a background in Neuroscience, Madyson advises clients across a variety of technical industries on safeguarding their intellectual property assets and enforcing their rights. Additionally, she advises clients on data privacy, cybersecurity risk management, and incident response with the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice group.
Madyson joined Woods Rogers in 2025 after completing the firm’s summer associate program in 2024. She earned her J.D. from Washington and Lee School of Law. While studying at W&L Law, she served as an Executive Editor of the W&L Law Review after having her student note selected for publication.
During her third year of law school, she served as a student caseworker in the Advanced Administrative Litigation (Black Lung) Clinic. The Black Lung Clinic advocates for disabled coal miners and their surviving spouses in their federal black lung benefits claims.
Madyson grew up in the Richmond, VA area but attended high school in Bristol, TN before going to Virginia Tech. Since moving to Bristol in 2014, she fell in love with living in the mountains of Virginia and is thrilled to continue to call them home. The ability to combine her passion for science with her legal education in such a beautiful region means so much to her.
In her free time, Madyson enjoys reading, hiking, and exploring different Virginia wineries.
