Woods Rogers is pleased to join in Roanoke Valley Gives Day 2018 as not only one of the day’s sponsors, but also taking part in donations to many of the participating organizations.
Roanoke Valley Gives, organized by Foundation for Roanoke Valley, is an annual 24-hour online event designed to inspire philanthropic giving throughout the Roanoke Valley.
Woods Rogers’ President Dan Summerlin said, “This is the first time we’ve participated as a firm in Roanoke Valley Gives and we’re happy to see many of the nonprofits we know and work with on the list. Our attorneys serve on over 50 boards of civic, non-profit and charitable groups here in Roanoke—and many of these organizations are taking part in this initiative.”
“Roanoke Valley Gives Day enables the community to come together and support the many nonprofits in this region and the incredible work they do. We are thrilled to have Woods Rogers playing an important part in the Day! The firm has long been a philanthropic leader in the community, and this latest generosity is further evidence of that,” noted Alan Ronk, Executive Director of Foundation for Roanoke Valley.
As part of Roanoke Valley Gives Day, Woods Rogers committed to funding more than 20 local organizations throughout 2018. The list includes Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia, Total Action for Progress, DePaul Community Services, and the Mill Mountain Theatre, among others.
Summerlin added, “We try to be more than a law firm because we not only work here, we also live here and strive to contribute to improve the business, social, and educational environments of this region.”
