In a Virginia Lawyers Weekly article, Principal Beth Waller offers her insights on a recent trend of AI-generated law firm reviews, raising ethical concerns and questions about false advertising. While the article focuses on law firms, it’s an evolving issue that any business leader should watch.

Not unlike hunting down cyber criminals, holding those who are inappropriately using AI is no easy task. “In order to combat these issues, law firms should be monitoring their online presence and using tools to check for GenAI content,” Beth told the publication. “From there, you can flag the inappropriate content to the browser provider [like Google] and follow their procedures to have information removed.”

In addition to her role as chair of Woods Rogers’ Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice, Beth serves on the Virginia Bar Association’s Task Force on Artificial Intelligence.
