Raven advises employers on compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and other federal and state regulations. As a recent addition to Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black’s (WRVB) Chambers-ranked Labor & Employment and Litigation practice groups, she helps employers build better workplaces and navigate through day-to-day issues by answering questions on the credit union hotline.

Raven joined WRVB in 2022 after completing the firm’s summer associate program in 2021. She earned her J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law. While in law school, Raven was awarded the A. H. McLeod-Ross Malone Oral Advocacy Award which is given to one graduating student for distinction in oral advocacy. She also worked as a student caseworker in the Advanced Administrative Litigation Clinic. Formerly known as the Black Lung Clinic, this service advocates for disabled miners with pneumoconiosis in their litigation to receive Federal Black Lung benefits for themselves and their survivors.

Raven studied Political Science at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and graduated cum laude. She has been a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, a nationally recognized honor society, since 2017. During the summers, she enjoys gardening with her family and using home-grown produce for new recipes in the kitchen. She is also a lover of roller-skating. When she isn’t skating at the rinks, Raven spends her time with her standard poodle, Pierre.
