Accounting Generalist (Roanoke, VA)
Woods Rogers is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Generalist to join our dynamic accounting team. Our ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to serve as a complimentary resource in a broad range of accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting assistance, and general administrative accounting duties. This is a full-time, non-exempt role in our Roanoke office. The anticipated schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Salary Range: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of general accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger processes.
- Proficiency with accounting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and colleagues.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in a professional services environment (i.e., law firm or accounting firm).
- Experience with IOLTA / Client Trust Accounting.
- Experience with Elite 3E and/or Emburse
Responsibilities
- Review, code, and process accounts payable transactions, including invoices, ACH payments, wire transfers, and checks.
- Review and process employee reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure required documentation, including W-9 forms, is complete and current.
- Prepare and post accounts receivable transactions and monitor outstanding balances.
- Maintain and reconcile client trust accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Support closing procedures by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to resolve billing and financial issues.
- Support the accounting team with special projects and audits as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
