Get To Know Russ
Russ helps debtors, creditors, and lenders across a range of industries navigate in and out of court restructurings and related commercial litigation. His experience includes complex Chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation, and commercial workouts, which allows him to help clients protect their interests and maximize recoveries.
Russ is community-oriented and maintains an active pro bono practice focused on criminal record relief and asylum seekers. He also serves on the board of Amara Legal Center and is active in his children’s elementary and preschools.
Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Russ was an associate in the restructuring group of an international law firm and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Rosemary Gambardella of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
Before his legal career, Russ advised U.S. Senator Tim Kaine on domestic policy issues, served as an aide to a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and worked on political campaigns.
Outside of the office, Russ loves spending time with his wife and children, who are adept snack and dessert negotiators. He enjoys spending hours at the beach, hiking in local and state parks, and traveling to old and new places, most recently to Saint Lucia, Montreal, and Bermuda.
