Four Experienced Attorneys Strengthen Woods Rogers’ Bankruptcy, Corporate, Litigation, Regulatory, and Special Investigations Practices
Woods Rogers is pleased to announce the addition of four attorneys across its offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Roanoke, strengthening capabilities in bankruptcy and restructuring, corporate transactions, litigation, regulatory, and government and special investigations.

Charlottesville
Daniel R. De Deo, of counsel in the Corporate & Business Transactions practice, brings extensive experience with complex M&A and commercial transactions, as well as partnerships, project investments, and joint ventures. Daniel also advises businesses in Charlottesville and beyond on corporate governance, entity formation, and organizational structure. His transactional and advisory work often involves navigating regulatory and policy issues in emerging or evolving industries, including energy, technology, and life sciences.
Before joining Woods Rogers, Daniel practiced at an international law firm in Washington, D.C. where he led cross-border transactions for multinational clients in a variety of sectors. He also worked on secondment with a major financial institution in London as legal counsel to its commodities trading desk.
Daniel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
Richmond
Russel S. Wade joins as an associate in the Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights practice. Russ counsels debtors, creditors, and lenders across a range of industries navigate in- and out-of-court restructurings and related commercial litigation. With experience in complex Chapter 11 cases, bankruptcy litigation, and commercial workouts, he helps clients protect their interests and maximize recoveries.
Before joining Woods Rogers, Russ was an associate in the restructuring group of an international law firm and served as a law clerk for the Hon. Rosemary Gambardella of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University and his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
Christopher P. Cox, an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, focuses on administrative, regulatory, environmental, and energy law. His work spans complex compliance matters and enforcement actions involving state and federal agencies.
Before joining Woods Rogers as a full-time associate, Chris worked as a contract attorney at the firm, supporting litigation and regulatory matters across multiple practices. His prior experience includes serving as a compliance intern with Architectural Products of Virginia in Ashland and as a legal intern with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General in Richmond.
Chris earned his undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College and his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
Roanoke
Riley Worrell, an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Government & Special Investigations practices, provides strategic solutions to businesses and individuals facing complex civil litigation and government investigations.
Before joining Woods Rogers, Riley was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Virginia, where he served as lead counsel in civil fraud investigations under the False Claims Act, the Controlled Substances Act, and other statutes. He defended government agencies at multiple stages of federal litigation involving torts, medical malpractice, employment discrimination, and constitutional claims.
Riley earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from James Madison University and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
