Scott Koven

Scott helps clients navigate complex litigation with a focus on appellate advocacy and employment law. As part of the Appellate Law team at Woods Rogers, Scott leverages his experience as an appellate clerk to provide strategic guidance throughout trial litigation and ultimately handle appeals before the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Virginia. He also maintains an active employment practice, advising employers on discrimination, harassment, wage and hour matters, and other workplace issues, and litigating employment disputes.

Before joining Woods Rogers, Scott served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Daniel E. Ortiz on the Court of Appeals of Virginia, where he gained firsthand insight into the appellate process and effective strategy. During his time at Washington and Lee School of Law, Scott served as Editor in Chief of the Washington and Lee Law Review and supported low‑income residents in the Lexington area as a legal extern for Blue Ridge Legal Services.
