Mark Coberly Named a 2025 “Go To Lawyer” for Maritime
Principial Mark Coberly was named a “Go To Lawyer” for Maritime by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
Mark focuses his practice on maritime and transportation law for international, national and local clients and insurers. His federal court trial experience includes major casualties such as collisions, pollution, cargo damage, and serious personal injuries; as well as transactional disputes including charter parties, ship repair contracts, tariffs and towing agreements. He also litigates maritime matters in state court including personal injury defense and commercial matters.
In the profile, Mark comments on his most memorable cases: "two cases went to the U.S. Supreme Court, including an oil pollution matter where we limited client liability under the Oil Pollution Act, and a bunker fuel case establishing U.S. maritime lien law precedent.”
The “Go To Lawyer” program recognizes leading attorneys with a record of success in a particular field. All attorneys are nominated by their peers and are asked to nominate “a lawyer who is respected in his or her field, well-versed in the nuances of the case law, statutes and regulations clients will encounter.”
