Jacob focuses his practice on defending medical professionals. He has worked with individual healthcare providers in nearly every medical specialty, including ER physicians, OB/GYNs, orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists, neurosurgeons, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician’s assistants. Jacob also has represented hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and urgent care facilities.

Jacob has tried cases in both federal and state courts throughout Virginia, securing multiple defense jury verdicts and numerous pretrial dismissals on behalf of his clients. Recognized as a "Rising Star" by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine and honored by Virginia Lawyers Weekly for his successful defense verdicts, Jacob brings a strategic and individualized approach to each case. He works tirelessly to unravel the complex legal and medical issues in order to develop a strategic plan of action that will best serve his clients. Jacob also frequently presents to healthcare providers and risk managers on best practices in documentation and strategies for mitigating legal exposure within the healthcare setting. He has authored articles on medical-legal topics for publications such as Virginia Lawyers Magazine and Healthcare Business Today.

While completing his undergraduate degree, Jacob was a member of the Richmond Spiders Football team and was named a team captain during his senior season. He brings the same level of hard work, energy, and attention to detail when representing his clients as he did when he played on the football field.
