Sarah is passionate about supporting medical professionals and health care systems throughout Virginia and West Virginia. She defends health care facilities, practice groups, and health care professionals— including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and technicians—in medical malpractice lawsuits.

In addition to litigation matters, Sarah’s advises clients on risk management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance matters. She also defends health care providers in Virginia Department of Health Professions investigations, assists health care facilities respond to agency inquiries, and investigates adverse outcomes and potential claims.

As part of her commitment to reducing risk for healthcare professionals, Sarah also provides educational programs to licensed health care providers and nursing students on risk reduction strategies and legal issues that may arise in healthcare settings.

Sarah has been named by Best Lawyers on the “Ones to Watch” list in medical malpractice law in 2022-2025. She was named Young Lawyer of the Year by the Roanoke Bar Association in 2022 and has been recognized by Virginia Business Legal Elite in its Young Lawyer category. She was recognized as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in 2020 and was named as “Boss of the Year” by the Roanoke Valley Legal Secretaries Association in 2019. She is an associate fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America. 

Before joining a private practice, Sarah interned for judges on the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Sarah is deeply committed to various organizations in her area. She serves on the Board of the Roanoke Bar Association (Secretary/Treasurer), Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (regional director for Southwest Region), and the North Cross School Alumni Board (president). 

Outside the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two corgis, Lady and Duck. She grew up in Roanoke and was excited to return after law school.
